Thursday 10/15/2026 the office will be closed for the day as I will be in a zoom workshop/training for the day.
10/8/2026
As most of you know the office has been having internet and phone issues and while it seems to be working now, we just found out this week that our internet provider (Which is our phone/fax/internet) will be discontinuing all DSL service as of November 5th. I am actively working on a solution to find new service in order to keep the same office number. In the meantime, the best way to get in contact with the office during that transition will likely be email: This email address is being protected from spambots. I also have two zoom workshops I have attend, one is next Thursday, 10/15/2026. The office will be closed the entire day for that workshop. This is not one of those workshops that I can peel away from to answer questions.
The second workshop is Wednesday 10/21/26 from 12-2; the office will have to be closed during that time, and this is an important elections workshop.
The due date for the 2%discount on 2026 property taxes is 10/14/2026; I am able to go by post marked dates for these payments, so as long as the payment is in the mail by the 14th you will get the 2% discount applied.
We have received new election equipment that will likely require additional training, as soon as I know when, I will post that as well.
All that being said, I am multitasking to the max and appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while I navigate all these upcoming deadlines 😁
2026 Tax Bills have been mailed!
If you have recently moved and haven't reminded me to update your address, please reach out and confirm I have the correct mailing address. 😀
You can receive a 2% discount on your taxes if paid in full by October 14th 2026. Interest starts accruing (7%) starting November 15th. We have committed our taxes at a mil rate of 19.6 😁 (that is just a .6 mil increase from 2025 taxes)
We do have a tax club option available to break up the tax amount into 8 monthly payments without interest. If you were in the tax club last year, your payment booklets were mailed with the bills. If you would like to be enrolled in the tax club, please let me know ASAP. Your account can not have a balance for a prior year to be enrolled in the tax club. The first Tax Club payment is due 10/14/2026.
Also, we are currently working on building back up some of the town roads, Monument road is being worked on this week, Estabrook road (From the sand shed to the Cary line) will be worked on in the near future. We are budgeting for building up Tracy road for next year.
I have fielded a lot of questions about the Estabrook road bridge, which is state owned and maintained. I received confirmation yesterday that the bridge will be inspected by the state this month, so when I hear any new information I will relay that to you all.
